September Fishing Blog

Looking back at August, one word would have sum it up… Wahoo!! That’s right, the striped mackerel relatives made it to Palm Beach in epic numbers around the full moon. We had a blast putting customers on a solid wahoo bite in the early and late parts of the day. A mix of high speed fishing and planer fishing brought the luck. Large Split Tail mullet baits and strip baits fished behind planers or trolling leads seemed to get hit. Pink colors and blue shades got the action along with bright yellow.

We are seeing some nice kingfish being caught in shallow (under100) feet from Boynton to Palm Beach on large blue runners and goggle eye baits. We were able to land a 48 pound fish that won the NPB KDW tournament for the second year in a row for our team. Wire stinger rigs are a sure fire way to get those kings!

We can only hope the Mahi start to show up in solid numbers that we have been hoping for all summer long.
